SDU is built by modular units principle as onboardor cabinet versions, that allows to compose SDU modifications for required tasks.

Set of units, each with specific functions is called modular batching controller (KDM). It is the main control unit in SDU. 

KDM units composition contained in SDU:

• processor module BPR-KDM - designed to control dosing unit or weighing, data exchange and commands transfer to other KDM units by internal data intercluster bus
• interface unit BI1-KDM - connects SDU to the ProfiBusDPBU network
• coupling unit BS-KDM - connects SDU to the ZigBee wireless network
• digital inputs unit BDV1-KDM - receives up to 6 digital signals from actuating mechanisms of periphery
• digital outputs unit BDV2-DKM - sends up to 8 digital command signals to actuating mechanisms of periphery
