PCS and ESD for steam superheater for F - 10A,B

Activities: Designing, assembly, setup and commissioning.

Design: Medium and upper levels of the system are based on Centum CS 3000 by Yokogawa. 

System Title

Automated control system and emergency shutdown for chambers of HP superheated steam F10A and F10B.

Purpose of the System Development:

System is aimed for routine metering, control, warning and pre-emergency alarm and displaying data on process, automated control and emergency protection of stream superheater chambers.

Emergency shutdown system is aimed for the following: Protection of equipment from destruction and maximum limitation of emission of flammable substances, prevention of emergency situation when deviating from ultimate permissible values in all operation loads and providing safe shutdown as per preset programme.

Description of Automation

Steam superheater is aimed for super heating of HP saturated steam up to 510-540 ºС from exhaust heat boiler.

Each chamber of superheater has the following components:

  • Combustor
  • Steam heating surfaces
  • Feed water heater - economizer (ECO)
  • Air and circulation fans

System Functions

  • Electric valves control
  • Control of fans electric actuators
  • Control over solenoid actuated valves and igniter
  • Control of gate valves actuators
  • Automated control mode of preset ratio of fuel gas consumption and air flow to burners, automated control of condensate flow rate to steam injection into super heater, water level in the tank, water steam temperature in superheater sections
  • Control of fan frequency converter, switching from operator's desk from manual to remote control
  • Control of fans, switching from operator's desk from manual to remote control
  • ESD actuating, preventing progression of dangerous situations
  • Displaying on the operator's desks the process charts giving values of measured and controlled parameters
  • Displaying curves of process parameters
  • Displaying data messages
  • Displaying units of remote control
  • Changing values of process parameters in the dialogue window
  • Light and alarm signaling when parameters exceed permissible limits and state of process equipment changes
  • Diagnostics of the system state
  • Accumulation, storage and recording of data
