Distributed Control System for Methanol Production (M-750 Unit)
Activities: Design, manufacturing, supply, erection, setup and commissioning.
Design: Middle and upper level of the system is based on Delta V system by Emerson Process Management.
System Title
|
Distributed Control System for Methanol Production (M-750 Unit).
|
Purpose of System Development
|
The system is aimed for continuous monitoring of parameters and automated control of methanol production process.
|
Description of Automation
|
Methanol production consists of the following stages:
- Compression of natural gas by a centrifugal compressor
- Two degree natural gas stripping from sulphur compound (hydrogenation and adsorption)
- Catalytic conversion (reforming) of hydrocarbons from stripped natural gas with water steam in a tube heater
- Compression of the obtained syngas by centrifugal compression with consequent transfer of syngas to circulation compressor inlet for methanol synthesis
- Methanol synthesis
- Two stage rectification of crude methanol
|
System Functions
|
- Conversion of measured values of process parameters (pressure, flow rate, temperature, level etc) into unified analogue, discrete and digital signals
- Automatic scanning of analogue and digital field instrumentation sensors and normalizing transducers
- Linearization (for measuring signals of temperature and flow rate), scaling and if necessary filtration (smoothing) and averaging of signals from high frequency interference and pulses
- Scaling and conversion into actual data as per calibration features of signal
- Checking analogue signals as per their confidence level
- Automatic receipt of signal from the terminal, trip points etc
- Generating warning and emergency signals
- Processing control signals as per preset algorithms
- Generating (as per control algorithm) and sending control (digital and analogue) signals to actuating devices
- Generating and sending control digital and analogue signals at least ten times per second
